In their letter from May 5th 2020 to President von der Leyen the Coalition of Baltic Farmers once again stressed the need to address the historical injustice with regard to the direct payments.
Baltic farmers remain exposed as they receive the lowest direct payments in the EU. Since accession to the EU in 2004, farmers from all three Baltic states have been receiving the lowest level of direct support compared to other Member States. At the same time, the production costs are much higher than the EU average. The income of Baltic farmers therefore depends much more on the market situation than in other countries.
In our webinar I would like to address the topic of Direct Payments in the light of the Commission’s MFF proposal. You are most welcome to join with the discussion on Wednesday, July 1st at 14.00-15.00 CET.
